I am a final year Drawing and Painting student at Edinburgh College of Art. Over the past few years I have been making work concerned with various sociological and anthropological issues. In dealing with the phenomenon of the celebrity, my work has taken the form of embellishing and over-glamorising everyday objects with particular emphasis on creating tents and beds for specific personas, ranging from Victoria Beckham to Ian Paisley. As the more political aspects emerged in my research and designing processes, this took hold and strengthened the notion of examining power, people's obsession with seeking authority and control over anything. Looking at the heirarchical structures of our world and the implications of their presence.
